VIRTUAL MOU SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN UNIVERSITAS POTENSI UTAMA (UPU) AND ANADOLU UNIVERSITY (AU), TURKIYE

On July 3rd, 2025, Universitas Potensi Utama (UPU) and Anadolu University (AU) held a Virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony via Zoom Meeting. The event aimed to strengthen institutional cooperation and open avenues for future collaboration in various academic and research fields.

The ceremony was attended by the Rector of Anadolu University along with university officials, as well as the Rector of Universitas Potensi Utama and her delegation. The event began with an opening prayer, the national anthems of Indonesia and the Turkey, followed by the screening of university profile videos from both institutions.

In her remarks, the Rector of Universitas Potensi Utama, Prof. Dr. Rika Rosnelly, S.Kom, M.Kom, Universitas Potensi Utama expressed her delight with the establishment of this partnership. She emphasized that the signing of the MoU represents a significant step in supporting UPU's vision and mission to become a leading institution in science and technology, actively contributing both nationally and internationally. UPU is committed to providing high-quality education encompassing teaching, research, and community service.

Likewise, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Adıgüzel, Rector of Anadolu University, warmly welcomed the partnership. He expressed his pleasure in having UPU as a partner from the Sumatra region, noting that AU had previously established collaborations with several universities in Java. He highlighted the importance of inter-university cooperation to complement each institution’s strengths and to address common challenges.

Prof. Dr. Yusuf Adıgüzel also outlined several collaborative initiatives offered by AU, such as Academic Collaboration on the Faculty of Art and Design, Joint Research, Student Exchange programs, and more. He emphasized that the partnership should go beyond the signing of the MoU and be followed by concrete implementation, such as joint publications and inter-institutional conferences. The MoU was officially signed by the Rector of UPU and the Rector of AU.

Also in attendance was Dr. Lili Tanti, M.Kom as the Vice Rector of Academic Program of UPU, Zekiye Dogan, Phd as the Coordinator for International Affairs from Anadolu University, along with all deans of AU. Representing UPU were Nursyah Handayani, M.Hum, as the Director of the International Relations Office, along with all deans of UPU.

The event was closed by the Master of Ceremony, Nursyah Handayani, M.Hum, from Universitas Potensi Utama, and concluded with a group photo session. It is hoped that this collaboration will proceed smoothly and bring meaningful benefits to both institutions in the future.
